Details

eNotes is a literature library covering thousands of titles in middle school, high school, and undergraduate English curricula — from Shakespeare and Hemingway to Toni Morrison and contemporary writers.

For each title, students get full annotated eTexts, multi-section literature guides (summary, characters, themes, motifs), published academic criticism from peer-reviewed sources, and reading quizzes.

For teachers, every title also includes ready-to-use lesson plans, discussion prompts, writing assignments, and quiz banks — built by professional educators, not auto-generated.

Once installed, eNotes appears in your course's left navigation. Students click it and land in eNotes signed in via Blackboard's LTI 1.3 single sign-on — no separate accounts, no separate passwords. Ads are hidden for any student arriving from a linked Blackboard course.

eNotes is FERPA- and COPPA-compliant and signed onto the MA-ME-CO-IL-IA-MO-NE-NH-NJ-NY-OH-RI-TN-VT-VA-WA National Data Privacy Agreement.
